If you like homemade pizza, this next fondue is for you. It isn’t as hard as making a pizza and cooks up on your stove top.  Then, all you need to do is transfer it to your fondue pot and you have a yummy supreme pizza in liquid form.

If you like the homemade bread, you can try my favorite breadstick recipe to go along with the fondue.  It cooks up best on a cookie stone, but a cookie sheet will work quite well, too.

Pizza Supreme Fondue

4 oz. Italian sausage
½ c. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic
1 26-oz. jar spaghetti sauce
2/3 c. sliced pepperoni, sliced into four pieces

1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried oregano
½ c. chopped black olives
1 c. fresh mushrooms, chopped
¼ c. green pepper, chopped

Cook the onion, green pepper, garlic and sausage in a large skillet.  Transfer sautéed foods to a plate with layers of paper towels and pat off grease.

In large sauce pan combine spaghetti sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms and basil.  Heat to boiling and then reduce the heat and simmer covered for about 10 minutes.  Stir in olives.

Dippers: tortellini, mozzarella sticks, Italian flat bread, homemade breadsticks or cubes of crusty bread.  Mozzarella or provolone cubes are also very good.

Bread Sticks

1 T. yeast
1 ½ c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. salt
2 T. honey
3 ½ c. flour
1/3 to ½ c. butter, melted
Garlic salt and Parmesan Cheese

Dissolve the yeast in warm water and add honey.  Mix together salt and flour.  Add yeast mixture to dry ingredients and knead 5 to 10 minutes.  Add more flour as needed.  Roll out into the  shape of your baking dish and place on a buttered cookie sheet. Cut into 2-inch strips.  Brush the top with melted butter.  Sprinkle on your desired seasonings.  I usually use garlic salt or Salad Supreme and Parmesan Cheese.  Sometimes I add poppy seeds or sesame seeds.  Allow to raise for at least a half hour. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
